How to Add Materials to the Website

Members of SelfHelpSupport can add resources to the Library area, news articles to the News area, and information about upcoming events to the Calendar area.

Library
Reports, links to websites, and resources for assisting pro se litigants should be included in the Library area. From the SelfHelpSupport home page click on the "Library" link located on the left side of the page to open the resource library. Click the "Add a resource" link located in the upper right hand corner of the library page.Fill out the submission form with the title of the resource, a brief description of information included in the resource, the document type,and the author organization. Set the creation date to todays date and the review date to a year from now. If the resource is a link to a website enter the web address in the space underneath the words "Specify URL." If the resource is a file click the "browse" button next to the "File 1" field and select the file from your hard drive. To submit the same resource in multiple formats, enter it into more than one of these fields. For example, to submit a resource as both a PDF file and a DOC file use the "File 1" and "File 2" areas. Once you have completed the form click the "Submit" button located at the bottom of the page and your resource will be reviewed by an administrator and added to the website.

News
To add a news item click on the "News" link located on the left side of the SelfHelpSupport home page. Then click on the "Add a news item" link located in the upper right corner of the news page. Fill out the form by entering the headline, the authoring organization, and the date the article was published. Either copy the article into the "Article body" space or enter a link to the article in the space next to URL. Set the expiration datetwo weeks from the submission date and click the submit button. The news item will be reviewed by an administrator and posted on the website.

Calendar
To add information about an upcoming event click on the "Calendar" link located on the left side of the SelfHelpSupport home page. Then click on the "Add an event" link located in the upper right corner of the calendar page. Fill out the form by entering the title of the event, the sponsoring organizations, the start and end dates, the city and state where the event will be held, and a description. Add as much additional information as possible to fully inform other members about the event. Click the submit button located at the bottom of the page and the calendar item will be reviewed by an administrator and posted to the calendar.
