Provincial court judges, Alberta government recommend salary freeze

This June 15, 2006 article discusses the reluctance to give judges in Alberta Canada a salary increase. Lawyers for the Alberta government and provincial court judges recommended a three-year salary freeze for judges. Canadian Bar Association president, Scott A. Watson states, "self-represented litigants and non-lawyer agents are becoming more and more common, resulting in added challenges for Alberta's judges."
